What are Imperial ABS plain pipe fittings used for?

How are ABS plain pipe fittings connected to the pipework?
Plain (unthreaded) ABS fittings are solvent-cemented to ABS pipe using a suitable ABS solvent weld cement. The joint is made by applying cement to both the pipe exterior and the fitting socket, then pushing them together. Once cured, the bond creates a strong, permanent, leak-free connection.
Are these fittings compatible with metric ABS pipe?
No. Imperial ABS fittings are sized to match imperial-dimension ABS pipe and should not be used with metric pipework, as the bore and outside diameters differ. If you are unsure which standard your existing system uses, send us the pipe dimensions and we will confirm the correct range for you.
