How a Brass Float Valve Works

As the water level in the tank drops, the float falls and opens the valve to let water in. When the level rises back to the set point, the float lifts and closes the valve. Therefore, the tank refills automatically and stops at the correct level each time.

The plastic piston and seat give smooth, consistent operation. In addition, brass construction gives the valve body good resistance to corrosion in cold water systems.
